Despite last weekend's relegation, MyFootballClub intend to bounce back next season, and a key factor (which we've learned in the hardest of hard ways) is retaining the core of the squad. We failed to do this last summer, and despite the excellent work by Liam Daish in building a competitive squad, the early false start cost us our place in the Conference National.
Besides, with the financial stability of other BSP clubs in the balance, we may still see Conference National football in 2010/2011 so need to stay strong.
With both scenarios in mind, Adopt a Player is now open for signups!
Would you be sad to see Lance go in the summer? Would it break your heart to see Magno bag a couple of goals AGAINST the Fleet next season? Would you be interested in a way to make sure your favourite player is turning out in Ebbsfleet colours next year? Well, through MyFC Adopt A Player YOU can help make sure they are. What is MyFC Adopt a Player?
Adopt a Player is a group of Fleet fans that have pooled together to pay player's wages. The individual investor chooses the position that they would like to sponsor, forming a bond with the team and making sure their contributions are transparent and accountable.
Our Adopt a Player pool will have the opportunity to grow! In the event that a player is transferred, the fee is transferred back into the pool for reinvestment, helping to make contributions sustainable, rather than just donations. Transfer fees will be reinvested on a different player's wages at the discretion of the investor.
So, how does it work?
Investors sign up for an Adopt a Player certificate, which is good for two seasons. There are three levels of fee £40, £80, £120, to buy into the certificate. After that there is a small recurring payment of £5, £10, £15 per month, corresponding with the initial investment amount, during the first year. In year two there are no fees to be paid! Sit back and enjoy watching your player, or buy another certificate for another position.
Sounds great! What's in it for me?
Well, you ensure that one of your favourite players remains a Fleet player. There will be a 'Meet YOUR Player' night where investors come to the Club for an evening with Liam and their adopted player. The three levels of membership will also get the following:
- Bronze: Signed photo and meet the player
- Silver: Signed photo, a draw for a signed shirt at the end of the season
- Gold: as above, plus matchday advertising.
There will also be a section on the website listing the sponsors for each player. Also, the feeling of pride you'll get when your player knocks in that games winning goal!
So where do I sign up?
