A song featuring EUFC groundsman Peter Norton has been produced. Members have donated their time for free to create "Beat the Weather" and it's available on iTunes for 79p here (with all profits going to the club). Can we put Peter Norton on top of the UK charts in time for the Wembley final? Will enough money be raised to pay for a new fertilizer distributor and to fix his warped workshed doors?
You can hear the song and watch the video on YouTube here
Peter Norton's 'Beat The Weather' features Brazilian percussion, big beats, 808s, 909s, football chants, talking-heads style instrumentation, plus Peter's life-changing words of wisdom.
We caught up with Peter today at Stonebridge Road for a quick Q&A, on the eve of his pop superstardom:
Q: Who or what are your musical inspirations?
A: “I’m a Sinatra fan but I also like a bit of modern jazz. Courtney Jones with his soprano sax especially”
Q: Who would you choose to duet with?
A: “Doris Day”
Q: Top tips for domestic lawns?
A: “Cut it regular, fertilize, and when it’s dry, water it for plenty of moisture”
Q: Do you have any vices?
A: “Just my pipe and the odd Guinness”
Q: Who’s the best player you’ve seen play on your pitch?
A: “Jimmy Bullard or Liam Hatch”
Q: What’s you favourite tool in the shed
A: “My fork, without a doubt”
Q: You mention Stormtroopers in your rap. Are you a fan of Star Wars?
A: “I was talking about storm troopers in the war but I do like the film. I like Mel Gibson and his Lethal Weapon films”
Q: What’s your current mower and your ultimate dream cutter?
A: “My Cantax Rotary is perfect for this pitch. I’d say the Rolls Royce of cutters is the Ransom 360”
Q: Did you play football in your youth?
A: “Yes. I was the right half for Empire Paper Mills FC who I used to work for. I also looked after the pitch.”
Q: Your tip is to ‘never get caught in the weather’ but what’s the worst weather that you’ve been caught in?
A: “In 2007 our game against Halifax had to be called off because there was an absolute deluge. It was coming off the terraces like a waterfall. Some Halifax supporters turned up and started singing ‘where’s your groundman gone’. Well I’d gone home absolutely drenched
Q: Finally, what’s your prediction for the final?
A: “2-1 to the Fleet, with goals coming from Long and Moore”
Jacko, Sparky and Ian ride the airwaves again. Tim Glynne-Jones tells us about a pre-Wembley visit, we have TGJ's former sidekick and scorer in an FA Cup Final Gary O'Reilly, Ian Christie's preview, another Wembley song from Foxy and the worst football song... ever!

At midnight last night, voting closed on the various decisions which had to be taken regarding season ticket pricing for next season. Thanks go to everyone who considered and voted on thes issues, the MyFC members who researched and put the vote together and to Cheryl in the EUFC ticket office for her help and advice. Yes: 89.1% (6040 votes)
No: 7.5% (510 votes)
I abstain: 3.4% (229 votes)
Over the next few days, supporters and members will be able to purchase the season ticket of their choice as well as take advangtage of the 'early bird' offer before 30 April.
Today the Ebbsfleet United online shop is open for business and can be accessed via the MyFC shop and the button at the top of the homepage. It's full of gear for the FA Trophy Final and you can take a look here.
Members voted for the team to wear a commemorative Nike jersey (pictured) at the FA Trophy final on May 10th and replicas are available for purchase through the online club shop. The club shop is also stocking a wide range of other commemorative apparel (Nike and Pro100 ranges) as well some Wembley day out essentials – imagine half of Wembley Stadium becoming a sea of Fleet flags, scarves and comedy oversized foam hands! If none of the items appeal to you, as some members have mentioned it would be great if all Fleet supporters wore something red on the day.
A select range of commemorative merchandise will also be sold from the Stonebridge Road club shop on the last three league match days of the season.
When you click to the club shop you will be directed to another website which is run by Nike’s retail partner. This will also be where next season’s merchandise will become available once manufactured in the summer.
It’s worth a reminder that for every 250 sales of replica shirts (or equivalent apparel) Nike will kit out one of our other teams (ladies and youth) next season.
Happy shopping!
